With an escort on their tail, the crew follow the designated flight path out of Romulan space towards the neutral zone at warp 8 (cruising speed). The crew takes some time to catch up now that they’ve returned to normal space and discover that they lost nearly two weeks while in the Hobus System. Other big news is that the Federation and Romulan governments have temporarily suspended enforcement of the neutral zone, allowing free travel and temporary refugee camps on empty habitable worlds.
Once out of Romulan space the Fortitude is ordered to rendezvous with the USS Zodiac, stationed in the neutral zone and acting as a mobile diplomatic base. There they will offload their prisoners for formal inquiry and extradition for their crimes against the Federation. Once complete the ship will make it’s way to Science Station Delta-05 where they will debrief and deliver sensor logs taken while in the Hobus system. They will then wait for the rest of their evacuation fleet before starting their mission.
About two hours from the neutral zone, the sciences department asks Kizit’gak to look over some sensor reading showing they’re being followed by potentially two cloaked ships other than their uncloaked escort. Confirming the team’s analysis, Kizit’gak also determines the cloak to be similar to the one used aboard the Defiant.
The captain hailed the uncloaked escort asking if they knew about the two cloaked ships. The commander indicated that he did not and contacted his command. As the Fortitide and her escort increased their scans of the two vessels, they broke off and disappeared off sensors.
Once crossing into the neutral zone, the Fortitude changed course to rendezvous with the USS Zodiac to off load their prisoners. The cloaked ships do not return. After transporting the prisoners aboard the Zodiac, the Fortitude continues on to Science Station Delta-05 and their Romulan escort returns to Romulan space.
Upon reaching the science station, the crew transmits their sensor reading and debriefs with the scientists aboard the station. The captain authorizes shore leave for the three days they have to wait for the rest of their rescue fleet.
The fleet arrives, four newly refit Olympic class hospital ships. Each with an evacuation capacity of 10,000. After meeting the briefing the other captains of the situation, they all set course for the Grodenza system.

The Grodenza system has two primary points of interest, the first and location of the mission is Grodenza IV, an M-Class world with a large agri-colony. The second is an extensive mining facility orbiting the dark side of Grodenza I.
Grodenza IV has an empire appointed regent coordinating the evacuation. The colony has a population of a little over 80,000 Romulans and Remans spread across the planet in small farming settlements and several commercial zones.
Once in orbit the ship is hailed by the regent, informing the fleet who is next to be evacuated and instructing his citizens to begin migrating to community centers for transport. The regent also indicates that there is currently an outbreak of Grodenza Pathosis in several remote areas suggesting that these evacuees be left for later evacuation but stating that that fleet is welcome to offer medical assistance.
Grodenza Pathosis
Symptoms: Loss of Coordination, Swollen Glands, Red Spots, Coughing
Cause: Bacterial Infection (Moderately Contagious)
Course: Gradually Worsens, Improves after a few days.
Treatment: Simple
Instead, the captain suggests that the sick be prioritized but evacuated on one of the hospital ships to avoid further spread and appoints Chief Cren to oversee planning of the evacuation.
